Hi Max,

I take it from your reply that you deal with the challenges through taking responsibility for everything you perceive?

This sounds like a very healthy thing to do.

What I'm attempting to show in this thread that once we move past the phase of negating everything we are still faced with a life which is being lived and the challenges there of.

It's one thing to talk the talk, a different story to walk the walk.

Best of luck to you!

Warmly,
Jonatan

I just read the following and felt it had a place here:

So, the key to man rising within to the wonderful heights which the spiritual life makes possible is to first identify the distractions in his daily activities that are consuming the precious energy he needs. If he is honest, these are always there to be seen immediately in front of him.
He must not look to absolutes, to God, to enlightenment as something to be achieved. If he does he will overlook the immediate distractions that are impeding him - and continue on a futile search.

There is only so much energy, so we must be careful how much of it we waste on maintaining the egoic self.

There is enormous power in the present moment, but we channel much of it into keeping the ego alive and busy. Once you stop doing that then the stillness has much of it's power returned.

What sucks up energy?

Resistance to what is.
Egoic self concern.
Time bound pleasure and pain.
The past and future.
The creation of other egoic definitions.

Hi Odd-Arne,
What does the word enlightened actually mean to you when you use it like this?

Regards,
Jonatan

No words mean the same to two people, but as we evolve we at least gain the ability to sense more than our own perspective, which then grows into a unity thing which then grows into an infinite thing that seems abstract at first, then that becomes obvious and doesn't alarm us so the we push further.

With normal language I guess I'd call it a state of continuous humble spiritual growthwith love for everything around you and in everything you say and do. There is not just one way to channel this through your life.

First we have to become fearless and get past all the ego and need to prove anything and do things for the love of it.

In my life I try to share love through playing music and sharing my joy both through playing for people and also teaching and guiding other people to find themselves through this artform. My skill level comes from the same philosophy. At no point has it been about proving anything. It's about sharing love and joy.

We may loose energy by allowing someone to suck it form us, but if you consciously give energy you loose nothing.

Everything is a choice and if we let our heart choose instead of our ego, the choices are always good ones.
