Awareness of who I am does not prevent me from taking the right action which in this case would be to intervene and prevent the attack, if necessary, to disable or kill the attacker. The action would be spontaneous and not pre-meditated, in full awareness.

I would think defending yourself or others would be seen as the same as stopping someone from abusing you. If at all possible one would try to defend themself without taking the others life yet usually when someone is out to kill you asking nicely won't stop it and sometimes you have to kill them to stop it. I agree there is death going on all over the place, plants, trees, animals and even humans so it is a natural part of this existance, yet allowing someone to kill you is not love for you or them. If you believe in the power of visualization and intention then how about visualizing all at peace with one another. That there is no need for anyone to kill anyone...that everyone is at peace with one another.

Ariel, you have written a beautiful piece of article. I love it!! I thought that you provided balance by bringing in the discussion on pain as well. Most certainly, we cannot escape the fact that we will bleed if we are cut or that the rules of gravity applies!

I hope to think that I will take a wise action when the circumstances call for it. At the same time, I don't wish to speculate or make a guess as to what it will be. Let it arise from that moment itself.
