Do We Go Unconscious When We Sleep?

The idea of the Self disconnecting is interesting. Perhaps it's just an issue of semantics, but I can't see the Self disconnecting from anything because it IS everything and there is nothing other than it for it to disconnect from.

That said, there is the experience of self-awareness seemingly disconnecting from this mind/body apparatus. You guys listed a few examples in your own lives.

It almost seems like conscious awareness can "look through" lots of different eyes. There's looking through Ariel's eyes, CaterpillarWoman's eyes, Jimmy's eyes, Marko's eyes, the eyes of our past lives, the eyes that float above our physical bodies when we have OBE's, the eyes that peer into our memories and imaginations, and so on... It's like there's one looker who has many lives and perspectives to look into.

I guess the question here is what happens when there's not the experience of looking into/through a set of "eyes." When it turns off. Is the seeing really disabled or is it something else?

I was gonna edit the previous post and suggest that the idea of one looker vs. many/infinite lookers would be for another discussion, but it kinda ties in here.

Let's say that there is one awareness looking out through your eyes and it's always the same awareness. Awareness is looking at a computer screen now, but perhaps yesterday it was looking out the car window, at your pet, or wherever else. The body it was looking through was in a different time and space, looking at something else.

The same thing could be said for you and I. We exist in different spaces, but does the fact that awareness is aware of/from a different time and space prove that it's a different and unique awareness?

Yes. That's essentially what we are. Each of us is a unique "point of view" for Self to experience Creation. Or, such is the understanding of this particular point of view persona at this particular point in the space time continuum. ;)

Yeah, that's what I wondered about the anesthesia. I really don't know. It does feel like a computer being taken offline for a while, though, like having your net connection shut down. You can't download anything from the Source. ;)

It IS possible to get information to which you have/had no direct access, such as scenes from your very early childhood, from other lives (yours or someone else's) or even stuff from the Akashic Library, of course. I expect that if I really wanted/needed to know, I could find out what happened during my surgery, but it went perfectly well and I'm not sure I really want to.

I'm just thought-rambling here. Not making any assertions or arguments. Just letting thoughts come into my awareness and I'm writing them down. Sometimes when I do that I say some really interesting things. Sometimes not, of course....

It could be that what we call awake, like me being awake to type this that there is another even more awake consciousness I just haven't accessed yet.

When we sleep some think we visit other worlds like the afterlife past lives etc. We don't remember because it's too much for us to handle in this present awareness and this is purposely set uP by design on or om (laugh) a deeper level.

It's part of playing the lucid dream game of life.

Now lucid dreams are where we are conscious or awake in our dreams. James Twyman says there is another door way in lucid dreaming that we can access that is the superconscious.

We can actually commune with the otherside in the afterlife and verify with others who have passed on that we are in fact in communion with them during lucid dreaming, and remember it.

I guess consciousness is like a computer that has many programs we can access. We just don't access all of them at once. Perhaps there is another level where we do access or can access it all at once.
