The Relationship Between Observation and Manifestation

Our true nature is not one of a sense of identity, an egoic “me,” but rather pure awareness itself.

Now, to just look at something and observe without interacting with it or without even thinking about it, that sounds pretty benign doesn’t it? It sounds very passive, as if the simple awareness of what is would have no effect upon what is.

Ah, it turns out that awareness of what is is much more powerful than we realize.

I recently read a post by my friend and fellow blogger Nicholas Powiull about the difficulty in knowing, feeling, and experiencing infinite potential. The video he shared with us from What the Bleep Do We Know? triggered an “aha moment” within me and I’m going to share it with you now.

We can see that our material world, in its true unmanifest/unobserved nature, exists as an infinite set of possibilities, right here, right now. From a statistical standpoint, some of the possibilities are more likely than others and this is reflected as showing up more densely on the projected screen. In “real life” we could say that it’s more likely that you’ll roll out of bed and brush your teeth than it is that you’ll roll out of bed and sing an opera. They’re both still valid possibilities nonetheless. Until there is awareness present to actually witness potentiality, no manifestation can occur.

We are all the observers of our world and it is literally the observation of the world that determines what manifests from potentiality into actuality. On a quantum level, if there was no one around to witness our world, the world as we know it wouldn’t exist except as a collection of possibilities.

If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear it, does it still make a sound?

Awareness of potential creates manifest reality.

What you focus on expands.

Where attention goes, energy flows.

You are literally creating your reality all around you simply by looking at it.

DO YOU REALIZE HOW POWERFUL YOU ARE!?

I wanted to dive into this topic for some time now, so thank you!

Attention/Awareness is the source for manifestation, it is what gives the statistical probability it’s “Go” for manifestation. Is that correct?

If yes, then the physical world exists already as it is, but attention transforms it further. It’s the same as LoA (as you said by “What you focus on expands.”) Agreed?

But what about the pure existance without attention, as you brought up with the tree?!

Hey Myrko.

Great questions! Let’s dive into them now…

You’re right that conscious awareness, according to this understanding, is what “creates” a Manifest reality by pulling from the Unmanifest.

With this understanding, we couldn’t say that a physical reality exists without awareness, for it would all still be in a state of infinite potential, simply as unmanifest energy.

As for the tree example, I’m going to leave it up to you.

The point of it all is if we look on the smalles level, the quantum level: The very act of observing the particle makes it behave differently. This is the “proof” that attention is transformative.

On the smalles level – which of course is the only that matters, because everything else is build on it – a particle blinks in and out of existance by putting attention on it.

This is also scientific explanation of the law of attraction and creation.

What do you say? Did I missed something?

hm, I’m not sure if this is exactly scientific proof that awareness determines what manifests. For example, the fact that they were looking at it just made something manifest. It didn’t influence (I don’t think) which slit it went through.

So it’s more of an idea that awareness itself is a key to the creative process… which is really interesting considering awareness is the one aspect of us that we can’t stop. Thus we are always creating.

Now, as for WHAT we create, what we choose to manifest, that’s the next step. I honestly have no idea how it all works scientifically other than the whole “energy tends to attract more like energy unto itself” bit, but it’s one of those things that can be experientially verified in our own lives. I trust that science will one day be able to explain exactly how this works. Nevertheless, even if we don’t know all the details about how something works, perhaps gravity or electricity, we can still use it to our benefit.

In short the video is saying that there is infinite potential everywhere making all things possible, but life is not experienced that way because we observe it. The video leaves you with the question “What does the observer have to do with any of this?” and the answer is that the observer limits what is being experienced through the filters (perspective, beliefs, expectations and experience).

Every human being experiences life through filters, in fact it is the only way life can be experienced. Infinite Potential is everywhere, all the time. Infinite potential can not reveal itself as anything certain/ specific unless or until it is observed. In other words, everything that could ever happen is happening all at once in every single moment (which in the essence of everything existing, nothing really exists until perceived). Your filters narrow this down. This is what makes infinite potential possible.
