Have you noticed how ideas and thoughts just kinda *pop* into our minds? Where do our thoughts come from? What’s going on here?
Well the typical way of thinking about our minds is as if it is its own independent thinking entity, doing its thinking thing. Basically it’s the idea of being a separate being who has the ability to operate while disconnected from everything else.
Now, instead of thinking of ourselves as separate independent thinkers, let’s change our perspective for a moment. Let’s imagine that there’s an infinite pool of thoughts that everyone in the universe can tap into. Every thought, idea, and concept is part of this single collective energetic thought bubble that we all have access to.
From this perspective, you and I are not exactly thinkers who come up our very own thoughts. More accurately we would be like vibrational tuners. We’re like radios that have the ability to vibrationally attune ourselves to different frequencies of thought. Whatever station you tune your energy radio towards determines what thoughts are received.
You have the ability to say “Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello” in your head, but what you’re really doing is tuning yourself to whatever radio station is playing those words and you’re sitting back as those thoughts pass through you. You are not your thoughts. Thoughts pass through you, this empty spaciousness of awareness that is eternally here.
Let’s examine a number of different examples that demonstrate the interconnectedness and non-separateness of thought.
Some people advocate believing in God, believing that unconditional love is better than suffering, believing that we’re all one, believing that you are the creator of your own reality, and so on. These belief systems can all have very powerful and helpful effects in your life. You’re probably familiar with the power of the mind and how much of an impact it has upon the reality you experience.
At the same time, other people recommend looking past beliefs entirely because they limit your knowingness. This too can be a very helpful process, and yet it seems to contradict the other way of life which uses beliefs as a tool to really impact your life.
You can believe in your beliefs so strongly that you effectively become them, yet you are not your beliefs if you are not your thoughts. What’s the dealio? If we’re doing the whole spiritual thing, should we have beliefs or not?
Marie Levit, author of Healing God, recently posted a video about this subject, discussing how beliefs fit into one’s spiritual evolution.
Oneness and Separateness are not two. Like in a hologram, everything already exists within the hologram, but the perspective you look at it from determines the “version” of the totality you experience.
Your thoughts determine your perspective (what you focus on expands), which determines your energetic vibration (Law of Attraction), which determines what channel in the TV of life you experience.
The many things in life ultimately are not separate yet somehow connected, as if there was a dualistic “out there” for anything to exist in outside of the here and now. If there is only here and only now, where else and when else can anything possibly exist?

Side note: THANK YOU for all your comments so far! I am extraordinarily grateful for all the feedback and suggestions you guys have been kind enough to share with me and it is all really helping.
In fact, you are SO Unconditionally Loved that you are allowed to believe and thus experience that you are NOT Unconditionally Loved if you feel that’s an important experience for you to have. THAT’S how Unconditionally Loved you are. You are given that freedom. That choice.
Once you decide you no longer want to create this experience for yourself, you can change it with the speed of your thought.
Safety During Danger
Like in a dream at night, you can have any experience you wish, and no matter what happens when you dream, you know that you will always be safe.
What we imagine to be “real life” is the same way. You can believe and experience anything you wish. This is what is meant by the statements “You can have anything you desire,” or “Whatever the mind can concieve and believe, you can achieve,” or “Anything is possible.”
You are safe. It’s okay. You are loved. Who you truly are, who you REALLY are can not be damaged. You can not be hurt. You can not die. You are completely and totally safe, NO MATTER WHAT!
THAT is how completely and totally Unconditionally Loved and supported you are.
The enlightened sages who have come to realize this for themselves do not fear in the face of apparent danger because they have come to realize this core truth for themselves.
You are UNCONDITIONALLY LOVED.
Creating Love or Fear
As a Creator, created in the image and likeness of God, you have the ability to create any experience you so desire.
By resisting your natural state of being Loved, you create the experience of what we call fear. Fear is a resistance of Love. Fear is Love, expressing itself as fear. In the same way that darkness is the pinching off of Light, fear is the pinching off of Love. Darkness is light, expressing itself dimly as what we would call darkness.
If you want to believe that you are not loved, Creation says, “Okay. Feel free. I Love you NONE-the-less.”
In every situation, at all times, no matter what you do, no matter who you are, no matter what you’ve done, and no matter what you think, you are Unconditionally Loved.
You Are Love
It is up to you to stop hiding from Love. It is up to you to energetically open yourself up to Love. It is up to you to let go of the negative thoughts pinching you off from Love. It is up to you to be Loved, to be Loving, to be Love.
Love IS you. Unconditional Love is WHO YOU ARE.
You are Unconditionally Loved.
You are Unconditional Love.
It is by opening up to the Unconditional Love that is already right here, right now, that you really open up to being who you truly are, right Now.
How can anyone come to truth by not using their mind? Yes experience, peace and oneness are wonderful things but has it ever come to your mind that those experiences are illusions? All it really is is shifting your brain into altered states of delta, and alpha states. Shifting your brain states with a brain that eventually does turn to dust.
The mind and the brain are tools that we can use to play in this physical dimension. It’s not who we are. THAT is the key point. Disidentification with the mind.
Thanks,
M.
My response:
My question is how CAN you come to the realization of Truth by using the mind?
If you sit around and think and think and think all day, will you one day discover the truth of what an apple tastes like?
No, you have to EXPERIENCE the taste of an apple in order to know its taste.
Is it necessary to think about the apple while you’re eating it? Not at all. You can simply sit in silence and enjoy the taste of the apple as it is chewed around in the mouth. Whether you’re thinking about the apple, thinking about what you have to do next week, or thinking about nothing at all, your senses are STILL going to register the taste of the apple.
Most people are under the belief that thought is the only way to discover Truth. Either we have the right thoughts about it and thus know it, or we are lacking the correct thoughts and thus don’t know it. Therefore we have to either learn about it, imagine it, or discover it. When the mind is seen as the sole source of authority, to know about something is the same as to actually know it. This is a delusion.
Have you ever had a bad feeling about something? I don’t mean a fear of doing something, but just an intuitive knowingness that something’s just not right. It you drive down this road, you’ll suddenly discover exactly what the “bad feeling” was telling you. How did you know? There was no possible way the mind could have known what was to come, nor any external hints to point out the danger. At first it may be just random chance, but when one starts to experiences a few of these strange “coincidences”, then dozens, then hundreds… it becomes really difficult to truly brush it off as mere chance.
What about the little children who are born and at the age of 3 or 4 can already play the cello like a master, recite major historical facts, and demonstrate other amazing talents that no one can quite pinpoint from where they were developed?
What about those situations when you’re in a state of “flow” with life. You don’t know what’s to come or what to expect, yet everything seems to happen perfectly. You naturally say the right things, doors open up for you, situations somehow fall into place effortlessly, you just so happen to keep making the right decisions. This state of flow may only last for a short period of time, but there’s clearly something that’s been tapped into.
There’s other seemingly mystical sources of knowingness. (Mystical is nothing magical. It simply implies that which is unseen, perhaps undetectable by our physical senses.)
The mind is not the only source of knowledge for us to tap into.
(Ariel’s note: I haven’t read this book, but this excerpt is pretty awesome nonetheless.)
Pupil: You have earlier said that I am not the mind, but a power above it, could you please clarify this point?
Teacher: The fact that you can give orders to the mind, act contrary to its dictates, and reprogram it in accordance with your own will, proves that YOU are indeed NOT the mind.
Pupil: Your words confuse me. Until now, I had no doubts that my mind and myself were the same entity.
Teacher: This is what most people think. Let me clarify this concept. To operate a machine or drive a car, there must be someone in charge to make them work. A machine or a car cannot work on its own, is it not so?
Pupil: Right.
Teacher: If it is possible to change the programming of the mind and calm down its restlessness, it means that the power that is making this possible is something separate or higher than the mind, exactly as the one who operates a machine or drives a car is separate from the machine or car, right?
Pupil: Yes, this makes sense.
Teacher: There must be something or some sort of subtle power separate and higher than the mind, which is able to reprogram it and change its habits. If it were not so, it wouldn’t have been possible to gain peace of mind.
If you are able to say to your mind, “Be quiet”, and it obeys you, especially when its desires are different from yours, it means that you are the one giving the order, not the mind. It cannot order itself to shut up. There must be something or someone else who gives these orders, and this someone else is YOU, THE REAL YOU. Read More …
We all have thoughts, beliefs, opinions, and ideas about “the way things are” and all these beliefs are very real to us.
The thing is though, NONE of those mental concepts have any basis in actual reality! That is, we literally made them all up… and then forgot that we did so! In some cases, we may have heard something from another, felt that they had credibility, bought into their belief system, and thus incorporated their beliefs into our own belief system.
People tend to believe thoughts, especially the ones they feel are “mine.”
Nevertheless, we can reveal to ourselves that using thought is actually NOT a way to understand absolute truth.
The “How Do You Know” Method
Take a thought, belief, opinion, or idea that you hold to be true.
Now ask yourself, “How do I know absolutely for sure that this is true?”
Whatever answer the mind gives you, to it ask, “How do I know absolutely for sure that this is true?”
The mind will keep giving you back answers and every time it does, again ask yourself, “How do I know absolutely for sure that this is true?”
You must be willing to question every answer the mind gives you for this method to work.
If you keep asking this question, you’ll find that you eventually wind up at, “I don’t know absolutely for sure that this is true.”
It turns out each belief is supported by another belief which is supported by another belief which is ultimately supported by “I don’t know.”
Your beliefs are built upon nothing. They have no foundation at all!
Do this with a few hundred of your thoughts, beliefs, opinions, or ideas, and you’ll come to realize for yourself that thought is not a method for realizing absolute Truth whatsoever.
I was reading through this site, and found that it goes against the “law of attraction”. because in law of attraction, thinking is good when I can direct them in a positive way. it is not just an ego. If I think, “I am confident that I can do this job and have lots of money doing so.” Then it is a positive thing to think about according to law of attraction.
Another thing is that the imposer article states that incarnation after incarnation brings only suffering.
Law of attraction says that we were not forced to incarnate but rather so eager to jump in again and again because there is so much joy in life.
So, I stopped reading the thing, but the book says that my ego will always come up with ideas so that I don’t have to read the book.
Did my ego mudding my thinking?
Or do I have some valid points?
Thanks, S.
My response:
S, excellent points, but yes, that is your ego looking for an out.
The two concepts do seem to butt heads a bit.
Enlightenment: Thoughts have no basis to know absolute truth and are therefore not real.
Law of Attraction: Thoughts help create your reality and can be used for good.
The main “problem,” if you will, is that people have lost their conscious connection to Source. They have become completely identified with their ego, their thoughts, and physical reality. Instead of life being a place where they could bring down their connection to Source and create whatever they choose, people forgot about all this and got stuck in physicality as if it was the only reality. This is what the Buddha meant when he said that life is suffering. Life, when identified totally from the ego, IS suffering for the ego itself is the source of all suffering through resistance and judgment.
So we learn that thoughts have no absolute truth, yet any reality (and I mean any reality) can be believed to be true and thus made experiential. Read More …
