Imagine you were an actor who really wanted to get into a part. You put on a mask, a costume, a new voice, even a new personality, and walk onto stage completely transformed on the outside, acting like a completely new person. Let’s say, for the sake of simplicity, that you put on this peapod costume and rolled out onto the stage.
The actor within is obscured in favor of this temporary persona, this image that the actor is pretending to be.
Now imagine that you, as this actor, were always up on stage and every role you played was just another costume, another persona. None of the personas or emotions you act out have anything to do with you. They’re just something you’re putting on, acting out, and displaying to the audience.
Let’s call this actor your True Self, your True Nature. Now, this Self just is what it is. It’s not one of the roles that’s played. It’s not a costume at all.
You already are what you are at your core, yet for whatever reason, you’d like to temporarily become something else in order to play a particular part and see what it’s like to be something you’re not. A little variety is nice sometimes, y’know?
What do you do if you want to make these new qualities really seem like who you truly are? What do you do if you want to forget your True Nature and completely BECOME your new personality, as if you were living another life altogether?
You’d have to assign a certain sense of ownership to the various external attributes and you make them your own. “This is now who I am. It is who I am. I am this. It defines me.”Read More …
Lately there’s been intuitive inner guidance to study higher dimensions of reality, beyond the 3 dimensions we live in.
A number of my wonderful friends have provided me with videos and information regarding higher dimensions. I’ve been jumping into that head first and allowing “myself” to be guided to wherever this takes me. For some reason, the idea of higher dimensions is extraordinarily exciting to me.
Now, I’ve never been particularly excited about geometry, but studying these shapes have been monumentally exciting so I’m going with it. I trust the excitement like a compass needle showing me where to go.
We all live in all dimensions, but we’ve forgotten about this and forgotten how to access higher dimensions. It’s nothing special. It’s just remembering. Same thing as remembering who we really are.
Here’s a quick lesson, much of which was sparked by my recent explorations and then interwoven with my own understandings. It may start off seeming relatively innocuous, but the spiritual ramifications it leads to are profound! So with no further ado… Read More …
Let’s round off this variety pack of topics, concluding Part 1 and Part 2 of this series.
Fears
“So do you have any fear? Are you totally free?”
Fear, yes. Is it believed or taken seriously? No.
The mind and the ego still exists, but it’s not taken seriously, just the same.
Enlightenment Fixing Life’s Problems
The funny thing is that it was always thought that this would always be the end-all-be-all solution to all problems. Life would be perfect. Everything would magically fix itself. All “problems” would fix themselves..
You know… “Yeah, I’ll just go get enlightened and my problems will all magically be solved.”
NOT TRUE
What happens is that One realizes the true silliness of all that was thought to be a problem, and it’s no longer a problem anymore because it’s not actually real.
Nothing changes on the outside, no one magically appears, including any angels descending from the heavens. Only the Self says “Hello, here I am. I’ve always been here. It’s good to see myself again. I’ve been pretending I’ve been someone else. It took a lot of energy to do it. It’s good to be home.”
Nothing changes externally.
It is an internal shift from illusion to Reality. That’s ALL.
There is no spectrum, no scale, only the appearance of such.
There is ONLY the One.
The idea of variation is a result of looking at different expressions of the One, but all expressions of the One are illusion and thus not real, despite the fact that they are the One.
Nevertheless, he did people a huge favor by breaking down the unbreakable.
There is only Consciousness, the very source of Consciousness. There is no 200, 500, 600, 1000. There is only 1. Read More …
I’m sitting outside in the garden now looking around at all the “form” that surrounds me… plants, flowers, trees… cars, homes, bees… statues, stones, leaves…
After a relatively brief meditation session, I opened my eyes and began looking at my surroundings, simply observing without allowing the mind to hop in and insert its commentary and labels. Just looking and allowing all color, form, shape, and movement to flow into my eyes as one seamless flow of light.
Suddenly I realized what I was seeing and burst out laughing.
Underneath all form is a dance of formless energy. Nothing is solid, real, or permanent. What we call physical and tangible is simply a dance of impermanence.
The building blocks of all form is the formlessness of pure non-physical energy.
It’s like this…
Look at this picture. What do you see coming from the light? Smoke. A dance of wispy smoke. Frozen in time in this image, we could look at this smoke and say it has a distinct, definable form. It has a structure, shape, color, and size. In fact, we can keep looking at it and it doesn’t move. It must be permanent!
As we know, however, the shape of smoke is constantly subject to air currents and the flow of all of life itself. It’s constantly moving and evolving. Despite any appearances of form or structure, we know that smoke is truly formless. It has simply takes on the appearance of a particular form in every changing moment.
Every thing you see in life is just like this smoke. It is the appearance of form created by the formless.
Nothing is truly concrete or solid, despite outer appearances.
Look at a growing plant without mentalization and what you see is the dance of formlessness. It is a formless flow of energy temporarily taking the shape of a plant.
Everything in life is like smoke, just moving a little more slowly or more quickly. Some things are physically more dense so they move more slowly. The smoke from a flame is not very dense so it moves relatively quickly. A human body walks around somewhat more slowly. A stone cathedral, which is very dense, changes even more slowly.
Yet given enough time, they will all equally be reduced to dust.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
There is an inherent vulnerability in all form. When we see someone or something putting up a protective shield, be they the thorns of a plant, the anger of a person, or the walls around a castle, we recognize that these defenses are simply the result of “something” being fearful of its own dissolution and subsequently doing whatever it can to solidify its sense of permanence.
Yet what we often recognize as most beautiful in life is that which is vulnerable… the petals of a flower, the breeze over the ocean, the gracefulness of a ballerina, the body of a young woman, the fluidity of a symphony, a sleeping baby, the chirping of a bird, a siren’s song, curves.
Vulnerability is the true strength, for it is in alignment with the permanent impermanence. That which is vulnerable can never be destroyed. It can certainly change forms and evolve, expand and contract. It always will, and recognizing this fact, one may let go of trying to maintain their current state and allow their own light to shine forth from within.
This awareness comes from beyond the mind. The true strength of formless vulnerability can not be seen by trying to look for it. It’s the timelessness of all that is. It’s the gentle touch and the powerful crash. It is that which can not be named, for it is simply just something that is. It exists. You can talk about it, but you can not say what it is.
Its presence arises naturally as the mind goes quiet and stops noisily covering up that infinite vastness.
It is a peace, yet beyond the most infinite peace you can imagine. It is truly beyond all imagination, beyond your wildest dreams.
You can tap into it whenever you wish. It is always there, lovingly awaiting your conscious return.
When many various individuals throughout history, many of which had never heard of one another, speak of the exact same non-physical transcendental Reality, there’s got to be some truth to it. Here’s a list that compares quotes from the Enlightened who all say that there is no doer.
Just like the heart and lungs, the mind is going and going all by itself. The problem is that we identify that automatic random thinking as being “me”, when it’s not. Since you can watch the mind and its thinkingness, you are not the mind. This means that only Awareness (that is aware of the mind) is Reality, and the ego/mind is an illusion, and there is no individual “I”. The only real “I” is the Totality of All Existence as formless Unmanifested Infinite Awareness that is aware of Itself.
Translation: There is no doer.
“I am nothing. He is all. I do nothing of my own. He does it. I am God’s pencil. A tiny bit of pencil with which He writes what He likes. God writes through us, and however imperfect instruments we may be, He writes beautifully.”
- Mother Teresa
Translation: There is no doer.
“Paradoxical though it may sound: There is a path to walk on, there is walking being done, but there is no traveler. There are deeds being done, but there is no doer.”
- Buddha
Translation: There is no doer.
“When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.”
- St. John 8:28
Translation: There is no doer.
“All processes are out of my control. When one sees this with understanding, then one is disillusioned with the things of suffering. This is the Path of Purification.”
- The Dhammapada verse 279
Translation: There is no doer.
“The man who abides in the will of God wills nothing else than what God is, and what He wills.”
- Meister Eckhart
Translation: There is no doer.
“Whatever you may be, you are being ‘lived’. You are not traveling, as you think: you are being ‘traveled.’”
- Wei Wu Wei
Translation: There is no doer.
“All Actions are performed by the gunas of prakriti. Deluded by his identification with the ego, a person thinks, ‘I am the doer.’ But the illumined man or woman understands the domain of the gunas and is not attached. Such people know that the gunas interact with each other; they do not claim to be the doer.”
- Krishna, Bhagavad Gita, 3:27,28
Translation: There is no doer.
Everything is happening spontaneously, all by itself, as an automatic consequence of what one is. Or to put it even more simply, EVERYTHING is karma.
Translation: There is no doer.
“Going on the path of inner experience, I attained the true knowledge, destroying the I-am-the-doer sense at its root. Afterwards, the ever-functioning mind was dead.”
- Arunagirinatha
Translation: There is no doer.
“From the standpoint of the Self ‘practicing advaita’ (nonduality) is an oxymoron since in that state there is no longer an entity who can make choices about what should or should not be done. In that state action arises spontaneously from the Self, unmediated by the I-am-the-doer idea.”
- David Godman, Translator of Ramana Maharshi’s works
Translation: There is no doer.
However, if you or I were to say right now that “there is no doer”, that would be the ego/mind talking because we’re still identified with the mind and it’s thinkingness. Only the Enlightened who have permanently dissolved all mental activity can say that there is no doer, just as the ego can’t say the ego is an illusion. That’s simply the ego playing it’s clever games to keep consciousness identified with it. The Enlightened have no use for words except to explain things to those who still think words are important. Words only serve a purpose until it’s realized that they don’t serve a purpose. They are useful for the sake of explaining to “others” that they are useless. When they happen spontaneously by themselves, in the moment, for the sake of “others”, in the form of writing or speaking, they serve a purpose. Words are only symbols and representations that cannot fully describe anything. The word chocolate is not chocolate. The Truth is beyond all words, and it’s meant to be experienced, not merely talked about. But you don’t really “experience” it because there is no “this” experiencing “that” when there is only One. You are that One.
“The ultimate Truth is beyond words. Doctrines are words. They’re not the Way. The Way is wordless. Words are Illusions.”
- Bodhidharma

Our physical reality that we, as humans, experience has three dimensions. From a geometric standpoint, we call them length, width, and height.
There is then a fourth dimension called time, but we can only experience one single “point” in time at a time. Our bodies have difficulty living multiple points in time simultaneously.
Nevertheless, the limitation of only being able to experience one point in time at a time is just an illusion. In Reality, ALL time is happening Now.
Let’s take things further, beyond even the fourth dimension of time, and really start pushing the envelope. What happens beyond four dimensions? Does this have anything to do with spirituality?
As usual, synchronicity brought “me” into contact with precisely the right information to help develop these understandings. Let’s watch two short video that help us visualize higher dimensions in a very easy to understand way.
A key point to keep in mind: In the sixth dimension, we can somehow hop, skip, and jump from one life to another. Now if only we had a sixth sense to interact with the sixth dimension…
I tell you this: there are no coincidences.
So in higher dimensions (which are all right here right now, not anywhere “out there” somewhere), it is possible for a being to somehow travel across the universe seemingly instantaneously through a fold in a higher dimension (a fold in the fabric of space/time, the 4th dimension).
That’s great and all, but our physical bodies and minds are limited to perceiving only this three dimensional reality plus time. How on earth (pun intended) are we supposed to perceive higher dimensions when “stuck” in the perception of a three dimensional reality? Read More …
It’s been said that the whole world is an illusion, yet there’s still something being experienced, and there seems to be a “me” to experience it. Let’s take a look at how we can graphically illustrate this illusion-creating process through a pair of 10-minute videos and see how our bodies interact with the illusion, if the world is, in fact, an illusion at all.
The world as we know it can not actually be perceived. The ONLY thing that is ACTUALLY being experienced is the electrical signals stimulating the appropriate areas of the brain. So while it looks like we may be looking at another person or at a movie, we’re actually seeing the brain’s perception of a visual experience.
It’s similar to how when we dream at night, we can “see” a world that feels very real, and even though our eyes aren’t looking at anything other than blackness, the brain is still activated via electrical signals and thus we can “see.” The same is true when we close our eyes and visualize. It is recognized that the dream and the visualization are just illusions because they are not coming through the eyes.
The physical world may seem more real because it comes through our eyes, but that doesn’t mean that we can actually see a real physical world. We can ONLY see the brain’s perception of it. This sounds like a subtle difference, but it’s actually a key point. We can NEVER actually interact with the world itself through our minds, only our perceptions of it.
Let’s continue with the video.
So we can see that the brain is constantly interacting with electrical stimulation which we interpret to be an external reality, whether at night when we dream or during the day when we’re “awake.” It’s a lot like watching a movie comprised of electrical stimulation.
Who is it that’s watching the movie? The movie may be changing, but there’s always “someone” there watching. In the video, they called this observer the soul. It can also be called awareness, spirit, the witness, or even God. (The video cuts off at the end so we will continue on our own from here, now that it has set the foundation.)
When we start looking more closely to figure out who this observer is, who this soul is, we ultimate find that there is no me. At best, we can say that awareness exists. Thoughts may be running around the brain, but “I” am the one observing this. The soul is watching the show.
In many spiritual traditions, “enlightenment” essentially boils down to reconnecting and reidentifying with this witnessing soul, a non-localized awareness. The experiences shows us, experientially, that the physical world is entirely an illusion. When we “awaken,” it’s very similar to waking up in the morning and realizing that the whole dream, even though it felt monumentally real when we were immersed in it, is actually totally made up. It ONLY existed within the mind and it has no reality on its own.
So now let me offer you a few questions to consider:
Is the one who experiences the dream and interacts with it the same as the one who witnesses the dream happening?
Is the experiencer the same as the awareness?
Does the observing soul have the capacity to be affected by or damaged by the dream world abiding in the mind?
