I Don’t Need No Instructions To Know How To ROCK!

Category   Enlightenment, God, Love, Peace, Religion

Let’s look at four different types of people:

“I don’t need no instructions to know how to ROCK!”

-Enlightened rock star

“I need instructions to know how to rock. I don’t feel the music. I don’t feel the beat. This guitar makes no sense. The noise it produces when I strum it makes people cringe.”

-n00b guitarist

“I need external rules, laws, and limitations to stop me from hurting myself and others. I have no idea what I’m doing in life. I don’t feel these things called Oneness, God, or Love. At best they’re just concepts people talk about that I’m trying to understand.”

-Typical unawakened person

“I don’t need instructions to know how to live harmoniously with others. I AM Love. I embody Truth, Joy, and Peace. I exist harmoniously within ‘myself’ and thus I naturally live harmoniously with all ‘others’ since We Are All One.”

-Enlightened person

Rules and laws are helpful at lower levels of consciousness, but once Love is All There Is, all rules and “the way things should be” can be let go of and fully transcended.

“Love and do as you will.”

-St. Augustine

Experiencing Emotional Roller Coasters Once You Begin Meditating

Meditation is often considered linked to ideas such as peace, stillness, happiness, freedom, and joy.

People who begin meditating may certainly experience these states during meditation, especially later on down the line, but many times what they experience is the exact opposite, both during meditation as well as in day-to-day life.

It is very common for meditators to begin to experience emotional roller coasters and so understanding what’s going on behind the scenes can really help a person deal with the emotions more easily.

We have lots of repressed emotions (energy in motion that has been pushed down, stuck) which, when they are allowed to be without resistance, they will begin to be let go of. Emotions naturally want to flow, just like all of life, and when you stop putting the brakes on them, they’ll naturally begin to flow through you and out, even if they had been stuck for many many years.

The emotional roller coaster is really nothing more than a release. They have begun to flow again and are now coming back up into your awareness. This is a positive thing, a healthy thing.

The object is to simply allow these emotions to be just as they are and release them through non-resistance. Remember, when you cease struggling with your emotions, your emotions will cease to be a struggle, as explained earlier.

So any time you notice emotions popping up, thank your body and your self for bringing this stuck energy to your awareness and allow it to be let go of. Don’t force the emotions to leave or try and smack them with the door on their way out. Allow them to be released on their own and the emotions will naturally exit your energy field.

This is a healing process. Despite the appearance of emotional turbulence that arises, it’s actually a wonderfully healing experience in the end.

In place of what was stuck energy, you may allow yourself to receive the Love, healing, and help the Universe is always sending you. You may allow yourself to receive it all, now. :)

Who Am I? There Is No Individual Doer of Any Action.

The famous enlightened master Ramana Maharshi teaches the pathway to enlightenment through self-inquiry and constantly asking the question, “Who am I?” Just ask yourself, “Who am I? Who sees when I see? Who hears when I hear? Who knows that I am aware? Who am I?”

Who Am I?

Is your name, its letters and sounds, you?

Or is it just a label? It’s not you. If you changed your name, would you still be you?

Are you your body?

If your body changes, if you lose a limb, you would still be you.

Is your mind you?

If yours thoughts change or your beliefs alter or the mind you have goes quiet in meditation, you’d still be here. The thought processes are not you. Who is it that’s noticing the thoughts?

The “I am” that I am is the same beingness that existed when you were five years old. Various qualities and characteristics about you may have changed since, certainly, but the very core of the fact that you exist hasn’t changed. Read More …

Crash Course in Ego Transcendence

Category   Ego, Enlightenment, Love, Surrender

Question:

What is the fastest way to kill the ego?

The meditation is working well, and things are moving forward.

I want it dead by my birthday february 25.

JB.

My response:

There are many paths you can take, all of which will guide you into letting go of all sense of separation resulting in ego transcendence and enlightenment. Let’s look through a number of options and see if we can find something that resonates with you. Mix and match based on your own intuition and experiences.

First and foremost, the ego is not something to push against, struggle with, or overcome. The ego is not something to be killed. That mindset will only set you up for more struggle with the ego sneaking in the back door. Struggle, resistance, fighting, and killing will not work. You don’t defeat darkness with darkness. You transcend darkness by bringing in the light. This is a critical point.

Who is it that wants to kill the ego? Why, the ego, of course!

The ever present awareness has no problem with the ego being there. It is as it is.

So, how do we transcend the ego? Read More …

Spiritual Truth is Experiential, Not a Belief System

Spiritual Truth is something to know, to experience, not something to believe in. The joy and love and peace of God can be actually experienced once you know how to access it.

Do you need a belief system to know how many heads are sticking up out of your neck? If I told you you had 18 heads sticking out of your neck, would a debate even be necessary? No.

You know you have only one physical head. You experience it. You know it. No belief system or opinion is necessary.

It’s when you lack the complete knowingness and experience that the weaker substitute of belief or opinion (which only exist in the mind, not in reality) is necessary.

Whether or not Jesus turned water into wine, or whether Adam and Eve actually existed, it’s not something we can actually experience. Thus, it’s basically a question of whether you believe in it or not. Since there’s no way of proving it one way or another, all you have are people arguing and defending their belief systems which is essentially a big house of cards. People are terrified of what will happen if their cards come tumbling down.

What are some spiritual truths that can be experienced and that really make a DIFFERENCE in your life? Read More …

The Gift of the Ego

Let’s have some fun and play God.

Imagine you live in the world of the Absolute, where everything is perfect, loving, whole, united, connected, and wonderful.

That’s great and all, but you can’t really understand or appreciate anything because you’ve never experienced its opposite.

So you’re God and you decide you want to blow yourself up into an infinite number of smaller versions of yourself, all of whom can experience the universe from every possible angle and vantage point.

Now, there’s no way to not be who you are. The next best thing you can do is to forget.

What’s a great way of doing this? Give these little pieces of yourself an ego.

The ego is basically what allows you to create the illusion of and thus experience the exact opposite of who you are. You choose to do this because it allows you to experience BOTH who you are and who you are not.

With this new gift of the ego, you can experience fear. Now you will be able to fully appreciate love. Read More …
