The thing I look forward to most with the possibility of teleportation is being able to just enjoy life more. I can pop in and have dinner and great conversation over drinks with a friend on the other side of the country. I can bring my grandma flowers with her morning cup of coffee. I can spend an afternoon wandering around Easter Island and then spend that evening at the great pyramids in Egypt.

Oh boy, fun stuff ahead... :D

I guess In sports or war, if all the participants were capable of teleportation, it would boil down to mental battles, to know before the other, where he is going to teleport to, and so on.
Basically, any spatial-based competiton would be rendered meaningless, or at least extremely funny, when introducing teleportation to it.

But since teleportation could only be possible, if you are on a higher level of understanding it is very unlikely, that you would like to make war, when coming from that level of consciousness.

If given the ability, I´d definitely check out the flying stuff, and teleport to remote islands or wilderness areas, for relaxation and enjoyment.
I´d also like to pop into the offices of politicians, or to big debates, to confuse them.

Last minute saves:

If you fall down from a tall building (or just jumped for the fun of it), you could teleport to the same location where you land, right before you hit the ground. Assuming teleportation removes your inertia, otherwise this would be a pretty stupid idea.

Warfare:

Well, think about it for a second. If war prevails at the time we learn teleportation, how the heck would it be like? Anyone could instantly be at the right spot for aggressive action, but anyone could also instantly be in distant safety. Wars would be extremely unpredictable, and very confusing. Any strategy would be rendered useless within seconds.

The way we think about the world:

To me, the most important use of teleportation would be altering the way we think about the world. Physical matter wouldn't be such a big deal anymore, and being identified with your body would seem outdated and intuitively wrong.
