Non-Duality Includes Duality

Non-duality is about inclusion, not exclusion. Non-duality seems to run contrary to duality. Non-duality (not two) says that All That Is is One.

The One is the All. The All are the One.

So how does duality fit into this?

Duality is the fundamental basis of separation, that there are many individual separate things. “This over here is me, but that over there is not.” While duality is not the ultimate truth at all, it is still a witnessable reality in a sense, is it not?

The All are the One. The One is All That Is.

If Non-duality didn’t include Duality within it, it wouldn’t be All That Is.

If All That Is didn’t include both the light AND the dark, it wouldn’t be ALL That Is. It would be Half-of-What-Could-Be.

Everything exists everywhere in the Universe simultaneously. It is omnipresent.

To experience physical reality, we basically put a filter over the Infinite to limit what we see, like putting on a pair of colored sunglasses. We vibrationally stand in a place which gives us a unique perspective to see various aspects of the infinite, a particular manifestation of All That Is. Playing with that vibration is the essence of the Law of Attraction. It’s a lot like looking at a hologram. It all exists now, but the version of the hologram you see depends upon the direction you are looking from.

Each unique mind-made perspective is dualistic in that you are looking from this perspective and not that perspective, yet all perspectives are equally valid from an ultimate non-dualistic stance. It’s not this OR that. It’s this AND that. Non-duality.

All That Is (which some people like to refer to as God) appreciates, cherishes, and supports all aspects of itself, INCLUDING YOU.

Recognizing that all possible choices and all states of being are valid as part of All That Is, judge not any aspect of All That Is.

From a non-dual perspective, all that is witnessed is recognized to be the One, and all appearances are recognized to simply be expressions of the One.

Thus, upon awakening, One’s relationship to duality changes. Duality is recontextualized to be an expression of the underlying Oneness. It is all simultaneously nothing and everything. You are that.

Stripping Away Leads to Integration

The spiritual practice of self-inquiry involves the stripping away of all false ideas of what you are to cut away at the illusion. Self-inquiry begins to dissolve the illusory reality of the ego. You can begin to see the nothingness of physical reality, come to find the non-existence of a separate self, have a dark night of the soul as the separate self falls away, awaken to your true nature as the One and the All, and come back around to reintegrate the Relative within the Absolute.

By stripping away the unreal from the real, we come to reintegrate the unreal with the real, interestingly enough. Gotta love that paradox.

It’s ultimately about inclusion. So don’t try to “kill the ego” or “get rid of the mind.” They are not your enemies, I assure you. They’re not something to kill, but rather something to disidentify with.

What happens after total egoic disidentification is spiritual awakening. Don’t worry about learning how to do it because it’s automatic and natural for everyone. It’s “built into the system,” so to speak. :)

    Hi Ariel

Can there be emptiness and non emptiness at the same time?

    Ariel Bravy Reply:

Of course. The emptiness you find is the fullest emptiness ever.

Nice. You know, you actually are tackling issues that I am working on/with too. This is one of them :)

Also the “Hiding in the Absolute” was a very important issue, I think it is one of the common traps with Spiritual Awakening.
And unterstanding Duality as part of Non-Duality, something that you must not resist but rather disidentify from, makes Duality loveable again :)

    Yeah, perfect Myrko.

It’s like seeing Reality as the yin/yang. The yin/yang symbol is True, AS WELL AS the individual yin and the individual yang.
