Letting the Stream of Consciousness Flow

Category  Ego, Love

Typing on a LaptopA few weeks back I was hanging out with Marie and we were just talking about things. I really enjoy talking to her because not only is she one of the people in the area I can talk to about more advanced topics, but she also challenges me beyond my current level and brings up fantastic questions and insights into my own understandings, deepening both our realizations in the process. We make a good team bouncing topics off one another or even just sitting in silence together.

Something we realized that the both of us had in common was that it tends to be easier to get things out through writing than by saying it on the fly. So she grabbed her laptop and I began typing.

There was no point to what I was writing. Nowhere to go. Most importantly, we deliberately made it NOT about teaching and playing that role, but allowing the stream of consciousness to flow naturally wherever it went.

In fact, this was designed to be a totally personal writing, something that wouldn’t be published when I finished. That was the intention when writing.

It turns out that what came through turned out to be kinda cool and now I feel like sharing. :)

————————————————————-

We went to CPK today. =)

It was wonderful watching people, feeling the environment, noticing how people interact with the world, appreciating people for no reason at all other than it’s just a natural state of being.

It’s not trying to prove anything, a way to get approval, or a way to feel better about myself. It’s just a state of openness, of being with whatever is happening, and loving what is. This love isn’t an action though… it’s not like I’m CHOOSING to Love people or mind-warping myself into doing this. It’s just what arises naturally as I open and be.

It’s so wonderful to feel fear and to watch it in action as nothing more than closing to Love, a sense of contracting. Whoop, there it goes again. Then with awareness of contraction, openness happens and Love flows.

Breath flows, Love flows, eyes smile, and it’s just a resting place of being. No nothing… just being.

:)

————————————————————-

I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts.

Your tea smells good.

I have no idea what to say. Your ‘h’ key has a dot on it.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to just let go, yet it’s the thing the heart desires most.

There’s fear that makes us hold on, or is it the holding on that is the fear itself?

Are we really that scared of opening up to people? Are we really that scared to find out who we are without protection? Without walls? Without any sense of safety? Does our sense of safety really come from not loving? From holding back from others and from ourselves?

Is our safety really coming from fear? From lies? From dodging? Can our safety be controlled?

Who is the one that is afraid? Who is the one who is fearful? Is it really me who’s afraid? From where does this fear arise in the first place?

What if you opened up fully when the body contracts? To the point where you start crying from the openness, from being that vulnerable and loving.

Is this just a mental understanding? Is this a physical opening? Is it an energetic opening? Who opens? What opens? Does any way work “best” or do they all work together in tandem?

Why open? Why not?

Does contraction really keep you safe or does it lock you in your own prison?

Is freedom found in prison walls or in the liberation to be or do anything?

Is freedom closing down or opening up?

Do chains bind you or liberate you?

Have you ever looked back on your life and thought, “That wasn’t so bad?” … yet in the heat of the moment, it felt soooo scary. It’s a big ball of nothing, this fear.

We think that closing down may keep us safe, but isn’t it the openness that we love to see in others? Don’t you just love people laughing and smiling and being themselves without worrying about what others think? Not in an inconsiderate way, but in an authentic way, a purely open way.

Do we have this fear that if we open up, who we reveal ourselves to be won’t be okay? That we won’t be accepted if we show our true selves? Are the masks that we wear really a “better” option than authenticity? Who is it who wears the masks? What if we showed THAT face?

Hi, I was practically jumping out of my skin when I read this. Wow, someone thinks like me. Okay, I’m going to give you my overview of fear and the basis of it, it’s core.
Our minds. Our ego’s we’ve been feeding and nurturing our entire lives (and how could we not? Our parents taught us as we grew)is a disease that is thought and interpretation, and resistance and ultimately fear. In every single person there is stillness. Presence, but some never wake up and realize it. Instead we bury & define ourselves in religion, ethnicity any form of separation to our our inner Being. Anything that is resistance, emotion, mind, is practically fear. IS fear. But then I think how can one live in a world full of thinking people with the ego’s and thinking and negativity? How can we not be a part of that when the rest of the world is? I don’t want to feed the collected unconscious of us all but what can I do?

You need to LOVE the fear.
Love is the answer to every question.
    You are ready, Ariel. Indeed.
Those whose are meant to, and ready to come to you, will- they will just show up.
And then it is your ‘job’ to accept, and embrace that which comes to you.
Purpose in every-single-thing :-) yes, indeed!

    Many blessings,
    and thank-you,
    Mother Wendy

I’m finding that I just love feeling the love, then the fear, then the love with the fear. It’s the most beautiful experience ever…just allowing yourself to exist right where you are….moment to moment to moment! Allowing it to be creates even more love inside for me! :) Pure gratitude!

Thank you sooo much for sharing! :)

Wendy said,”Purpose in every single thing.” Right on. All is meant to be. All is necessary- whether we understand it or not. Source/consciousness knows exactly what each of us needs at any given moment all the time. It will always provide. All we need do is remain as open as we are capable of at this moment in time and it will be exactly what we are meant to do, not do, experience, not experience, understand, not understand.
This blog just continues to amaze me. I seem to grow right along with it. Even when I become doubtful momentarily, something will come along like this latest post of yours, Ariel and I am flying once more!
    So grateful.

All in all, you are doing good work.

Your quote… “I really enjoy talking to her because not only is she one of the few people in the area I’ve found who can actually keep up with me in conversation,” sounds like most of the rest of us are too stupid to have an intelligent conversation. You might like to rephrase that next time. You surely don’t think you are smarter than the majority of people who live around you.

    Ariel Bravy Reply:

    Hey Leslie,

Thanks for the comment. I get what you’re saying, but that’s not what I meant. In my experience, most people I talk to are still learning about the concept of the ego and whatnot, whereas others already have a lot of experience when it comes to spirituality, some even more than I do. It’s not about good or bad, smarter or dumber, but simply different levels of experience. It’s not a judgment, but a simple recognition of where people are in the moment. Everyone is perfect exactly where they are. Truly. I’ll reword the statement to reflect that. Thanks for expressing your concern. :)

Hi Ariel, I couldn’t find a way to get my picture in so sorry about not having a face. I was wondering, have you read the Power of Now? If so, what do you think of it? :blink

    Ariel Bravy Reply:

Hey Katelyn, if you want a pic, you gotta upload one through Gravatar. As for The Power of Now, yeah, I’ve read it. :)

    Katelyn Reply:

Well, I believe every word yet at the same token I’m wondering how one could live in a world the way he describes. Wouldn’t talking and interacting within the human drama not be included in what Tolle is saying about the “Stillness” and “Being”? How can we do that? I almost feel like everything I’m doing is wrong because I’m not Enlightened like he is and I’m adding to the negative collective energy created by the human unconscious created because for the most part, we are unconscious and live by the mind.

    Ariel Bravy Reply:

    Katelyn, :)

No worries. There’s truly nothing other than perfection. Nothing’s gone wrong. There’s no mistakes. You’re perfect just as you are, enlightened or not. :)

Regarding the stillness idea, it’s about inner stillness. Enlightened people still speak, eat, laugh, go to the bathroom. They’re not exactly immobile lumps of meat and bones.

    Katelyn Reply:

Thank you for saying that, though what I was getting at was, doesn’t talking eventually lead into some form of unconsciousness? From what he was saying it sounded like it was urgent, we all need to become Enlightened soon. I understand the message of inner stillness and inner peace but how can you say I’m perfect as I am when words mean nothing? That the meaning behind words is nothing… and I am not perfect because I have a disease called the egoic mind. It runs my life. Course there are intercepts in my life where I can say I was Still but eventually my mind returns and I am no longer Present… do you understand where I am coming from? I’m truly trying to get someone else’s view… if they’ve thought about this..

    Ariel Bravy Reply:

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying. Let’s explore this then.

Talking, if it keeps one trapped at the level of belief systems, does keep one unconscious. The idea about going beyond the mind/belief/ego is about looking what’s beyond the mind entirely in the silence, in the stillness.

It’s urgent in that our ability to destroy ourselves due to unconsciousness… wars, nuclear weapons, etc. are at an all time high and we need conscious people to help deal with that. It’s not like anything is wrong with the unconsciousness, however, as it too is part of the perfection of the evolution of humanity.

Having an egoic mind does not mean being imperfect. If anything, it’s a perfect expression of an egoic self. Truly perfect. There are no mistakes and no such thing as imperfection, though we can believe and thus experience this false thing called imperfection.

People could talk about stuff like this all day, and indeed they have done so for thousands of years, so eventually it’s something we must put into practice ourselves, to walk the walk in a sense.

If you lose presence, it’s no biggie. Just become present again and let go. It’s not something you do once and are set for life. It’s something that you do consciously, constantly.

The fact that you are aware of an ego in the first place is already a success and a sign of consciousness right there. :)

Thanks, I’m 17 and my mom has taught me all that I know. Alright, that is a comfort. I’m glad there’s someone out there like you Ariel. I hope I get to meet someone like you in person some day. Thank you so much :clapping

Hi Marko here from Milwaukee Wisconsin. I just came across this site and got on the email list. I hope to join in the discussion here from time to time.

I just want to say hi and welcome all you ambassadors of compassion, diplomats of peace and harmony. Conjurers of better tomorrows, Ministers of technicolor grace and creativity, Dream makers and coffee drinkers.

I want to also welcome you Master Appreciators and Master Blessers of life, who are charmed and spellbound by the endless possibilities that exist inside the matrix of our Imagination.

It is your X-ray vision that cuts through the political, social and psychological dysfunctions. You are the Prime Ministers of Whimsy, Propagandists of World Peace and Prosperity, magnificent cosmic bystanders that observe, as well as participate in, awakening this lucid dream world of the physical.

I was staring at some soap bubbles recently and saw into the future!

The New Year will be blessed with multifarious, hypercoloured, melted Rubik’s cubes, saturated in a technicolour goo of cross-cultural,
bi-coastal, cosmic stardust, sprinkled with golden fairy dust and blessed by the Unicorns and the Pink Pony Brigade, percolated and supercooled by the ethers of overexposure to pure Awesomeness!

This high-octane, Hyper-energetic Awesomeness will be spray painted in graffiti all over the Milky way stars, for your pure Awesome pleasure.

This will allow us to luxuriate in positive outrageousness and to opti-mystically, hyper-kinetically celebrate our lives

    Ariel,

Loved the post. The stream of consciousness when creating or being inspired is so beautiful. There is true joy when that life energy is streaming into your writing, drawing, music making or life affirming task that smiles and laughter just bubble out. Can really feel the play of existence enjoying itself.

    One Love
