Would like to know even if the converse of this is
true.Can doing actions as per god will bring about the growth in consciousness.I read somewhere people who attained a high level of ego-transcendence in this manner include Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teressa.

I would agree…growth happens of itself. A tree grows naturally without thought, will, etc. All things grow and evolve automatically…of course, some faster or slower.

The western world is caught up in the idea that nothing will happen (no growth) unless we struggle, make choices, will, think, etc, etc. Only when you let go…you find things still happen and growth still happens when we don’t do all these things.
