Hey Binnoy,

This is a question I've been exploring lately as well. If you're in a state of deep peace, can you still experience emotion?

We can use techniques like meditation to help us get in touch with the stillness within, to help minimize the distractions, yet eventually we realize that distractions do not replace stillness, they simply distract awareness away from it.

Noise doesn't destroy silence, but rather makes it harder to hear silence. Yet silence is present even in the loudest of noises.

Going back to your water analogy, it's like realizing that no matter how much you hit the surface of the water with your hammer and create ripples, you are much deeper than the surface of the water. You are the entire ocean and at your core you are still, even when there is a hurricane raging on the surface.

So you can experience emotion, yet it does not disturb the essence of who you are. Awareness is untouched by any emotion.

It's like an awakening to the depth of your being, way beyond superficial surface-level appearances.

Love your signoff by the way, With Love Always. :)

Dear Ariel
I used to compare emotions with feelings using the following analogy.
Life(love) is like a vast still pool of fresh water. The water is still, calm and levelled.Every

thought that one takes personally is like a pebble thrown in this pool of fresh water. This

sets out ripples(emotions) in water.

The sight of these ripples itself is so frightening for us before enlightment that we use the

god-gifted hammer(mind) to level these ripples. We usually do it by hitting the hammer

against the head of these ripples without knowing this process would only increase the

magnitude, range and amplitude of these ripples (emotions).

Ofcourse one doesnt keep on hitting the hammer 24x7.So nature here follows a rule:

whenever if one tries to ignore the emotions(ripples) formed, life freezes them like

ice(super-emotional garbage). These freezed ripples remain within our body for years or

even incarnations together until and unless they are resolved by bringing our awareness

onto them(THIS process is similar to the melting of ice by sun).

IN Enlightment all that we learn is 'HOW NOT TO HIT THE HAMMER IN THE POOL OF LIFE'

which ofcouse sounds very simple and is simple, but not easy .Surrender basically means

becoming aware of the ripples by simply watching them slow down and trusting that the

water will be levelled when allowed since it is its natural state.

However after reading this article i got a bit confuse with this entire analogy.
according to the above analogy emotions are nothing but a resistance to your natural

state. Then howcome they help you create something.Does this mean that in your natural

state(levelled water) one is capable of creating nothing.

I had actually concluded from the above analogy that feelings were nothing, yes nothing but

a flash or glimpse of who you truly ARE.
Could you please kindly explain.
                                                                                                  WITH LOVE ALWAYS
                                                                                                       BINNOY

This last bit hit home. I visualized walking down a pathway that I intended to be a certain one I had been thinking about it was like whoa. The strong emotion poured forth and it became clear what to do. GREAT post. Peace and joy in all your endeavors.
