Love and repression do not go hand in hand.
Love naturally wants to flow out into the world and touch the hearts of others. When there’s repression and resistance, that’s a sign that the ego is at work. There’s stuckness.
Love has no opposite.
In the same way how darkness is the lack of light and not the opposite of light, fear is the lack of Love, not the opposite to it.
You can’t put darkness in a room. In order to make it dark, you have to block out light.
You can’t put fear in a person. In order to make a person fearful, you have to block out Love.
Fear is choosing to push against the natural flow of Life as opposed to trusting that Life will unfold perfectly.
Now let’s look at various combinations of Love/fear and repression/expression.
Situation A) You have fears and you repress them.
By repressing fears, you’re resisting them and putting your attention upon them. What you resist persists. Therefore you’ll continue to feel and subsequently create the experience of fear in your life. Where attention goes, energy flows.
Situation B) You have fears and you express them.
This is where you go out complaining, talking about how bad things are, and generally being pessimistic. Angry people are people expressing fear.
By announcing fear out into the world, you’re going to see fear reflected back to you because the world is your mirror. The world operates by showing you a reflection of your inner state. That is its purpose.
Situation C) You have Love and you repress it.
Why would you be afraid of giving Love?
It might not be returned? You may look soft and silly? You want to look cool? You may feel too vulnerable? You’ve been hurt in the past?
All possible reasons boil down to one real root answer: Fear.
Fear is dominating Love in the moment. What is fear? Resistance to Love.
Again, you’re resisting the flow and even though you now at least recognize there is a flow of Love within you, you are still resisting its true expression in the world.
Situation D) You have Love and you express it.
THERE we go. Finally. This is what it’s all about.
Now you recognize the river of life AND you allow yourself to live in a state of flow with it. It becomes clear from the inside and from the outside (since they’re one and the same anyways) that you are Love.
So when it comes down to actually creating your reality, and you ARE the creator of your reality, if you want to create Love in your life, not only do you have to recognize its flow, but you also have to allow it to flow through you and OUT into the world without getting stuck within you.
It is when you allow Love to flow through you that you experience the highest forms of Love in your life. What you want for yourself, give to another.
Be the Source of that which you want for yourself.
“But, but, it’s what we resist that persists, not what we allow and give away.”
It’s really the same thing worded differently, focused elsewhere. By saying that we’re resisting something, it’s the same as saying that we’re allowing the resistance to it.
When we’re choosing to hold Love back, we’re allowing the resistance to Love. What we’re resisting is the allowing of Love and thus what persists is the lack of Love in our lives.
“If what I resist persists, I’ll just resist Love and it’ll persist.”
Resisting Love is choosing fear.
“Errr, then I’ll resist fear.”
Resisting fear is choosing fear.
So maybe instead of saying “What you resist persists,” we could more accurately say “When you resist, you experience the lack of that which has no opposite, the dualistic negative side of.”
You can sometimes experience the positive dualistic side of it, but you’ll constantly go back and forth between the two. There’s a constant tennis match going on within because the mind is split in two. There’s a struggle between seemingly polar opposites.
It’s like when people go shopping to fill an empty void within. They buy what they want and “juice” the emotional high out of it, but what inevitably happens?
That’s right. They fall back to their original empty level.
This is a neverending battle that stems from the ego-based mind.
To experience Unconditional Love, you must RISE ABOVE this mind-made reality entirely and completely transcend it.
Instead of choosing resistance, you must choose to allow, surrender, and be in a state of complete non-attachment.
Let go of all feeling of lack or limitation. Let go of all resistances to Love. Let go of all aversions and attachments.
By allowing yourself to flow with life in this manner, you finally allow the nondualistic awesomeness that is Unconditional Love, Peace, and Joy (that has no opposite) to shine forth and make itself known.
What you resist persists, but making things persist should never be the goal in the first place.
Life is constantly in a state of creation, of perpetual evolution and expansion. Look outside. Life is constantly changing. Maybe quickly. Maybe slowly. Maybe somewhere in between. Whatever the pace, it’s definitely changing. Trying to resist this change is insane.
Making things persist shouldn’t be the goal in the first place.
Instead, it’s about allowing life’s many changes, even welcoming them.
It’s a perpetual feeling of “YES” to life, as opposed to “NO.”
Sure you may like something and choose to continue experiencing it. Instead of seeing yourself of resisting something that is, choose to create and recreate the same experience. On the outside it may look the same, but inside it’s a whole different ballgame.
Your reality and your truths can always be “right” and set in stone. You can then get angry (only the ego gets angry) when someone challenges your beliefs or statements, or you can allow your understandings to evolve and your truths to deepen.
Life is a process of perpetual creation. Freedom is allowing life to be.
Allow Love to flow through you from deep within.
Give your deepest gifts. Give all you have to offer.
This is what gives your life a deeper meaning. This is how you give it fullness.
Allow Love to flow through you freely.
